Walkden Town Centre

The Walkden Town Centre redevelopment for Derwent Group includes new retail and dining spaces, a shopping boulevard, and future development plots. Artal provided services from 2021 to 2026.

The Walkden Town Centre redevelopment, commissioned by the Derwent Group, involves the demolition of Victoria Square and Egerton Walk elements, along with the refurbishment of existing unit frontages to create new external elevations for units within Use Class E. This redevelopment includes Sui Generis drinking establishments, which will face newly developed external areas, including the creation of a vibrant shopping boulevard serving the town centre. The project also provides future development plots and associated works. Services commenced in 2021 at RIBA Stage 0, with construction set for completion in 2026. Artal is providing Employers Agent and Project Management services across RIBA Stages 0–6. The project will introduce a dynamic new shopping and leisure destination with enhanced external amenity spaces, revitalising the heart of Walkden Town Centre.
